HISTORY & HERITAGE

Where it started

Where it started

The story of the Group begins in 1962, when Captain C. I. Spanopoulos acquired the launch "Vosporos" in the port of Piraeus. What started as a single vessel grew steadily through hard work and a clear vision: to build something lasting in the maritime sector.

The decades that followed brought expansion in every direction. Tugboats in the 1970s. Floating cranes in the 1980s. Major harbour construction projects in the 1990s, including the reconstruction of the Piraeus passenger terminal. By 2006, a fully equipped commercial shipyard in Salamina. By 2009, a fleet operating in deep sea and ocean towage worldwide.

Today, operating as IGMAR Group, we carry that foundation forward with the same commitment the company was built on: finding solutions, every time.
